C1 Staffing is hiring a Cook I in Osawatomie, KS (66064) to prepare and serve hot and cold food items for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special events at a client facility. This contract-to-hire assignment pays $16.48 per hour with overtime at $23.07 per hour, and runs from June 22, 2026 through December 31, 2026 with the potential to move into a permanent role.
What you will do:- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items- Cook for multiple meal periods throughout the day, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner service- Prepare food for special and catered events in addition to daily meal service- Portion items consistently so each plate meets the facility's serving standards- Maintain food quality and presentation standards from prep through service- Follow safe food handling practices throughout every shift- Work at pace in a high-volume kitchen while keeping accuracy on recipes and portions- Keep your station organized and ready for the next meal period
Schedule and pay:- $16.48 per hour, with overtime paid at $23.07 per hour- Paid weekly- Full-time, 40 hours per week- Shift options include 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and 10:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.- Assignment dates: June 22, 2026 through December 31, 2026- Contract-to-hire, with the potential to move into a permanent role
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Experience preparing food in a high-volume kitchen setting- Ability to stand for extended periods and keep up in a fast-paced kitchen environment- Comfort cooking across multiple meal periods and for catered or special events- Attention to detail on portioning, food quality, and presentation- Knowledge of safe food handling practices- Black or blue slacks or cargo pants for each shift; shirt and hat are provided- Must be able to complete E-Verify employment eligibility verification
