C1 Staffing is hiring a Utility Worker for a kitchen operation in Detroit, MI (48226 area), handling cleaning, sanitation and support tasks that keep the kitchen running. Pay is $17.45 per hour with overtime paid at $24.43 per hour, on a steady daytime schedule.
This is a contract assignment with the potential to continue on an ongoing or contract-to-hire basis for dependable workers. If you show up on time and pitch in wherever the team needs help, there is real room to keep working past the initial assignment.
What you will do:- Maintain clean and orderly kitchen work areas throughout the shift- Wash, sanitize and store kitchen equipment, utensils and smallwares- Keep dish and wash areas stocked, organized and ready for the next rush- Support the kitchen team with basic food prep tasks as assigned- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards while handling equipment and product- Follow workplace safety standards, including safe lifting and proper handling of cleaning chemicals- Take direction from kitchen leads and step in wherever extra hands are needed
Schedule and pay:- Pay is $17.45 per hour- Overtime is paid at $24.43 per hour- Shift is 7:00am to 3:30pm- Roughly 40 hours per week, with overtime opportunity- Paid weekly
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Reliable attendance and the ability to arrive on time for a 7:00am start- Comfort standing and walking for the length of the shift- Ability to lift and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment- Willingness to take direction and jump in wherever the team needs support- Prior kitchen, dishroom or food service experience is helpful but not required
