C1 Staffing is hiring an experienced Cook for a senior dining operation in New York, NY. This role pays $23.07 per hour with overtime at $32.30 per hour, on a steady day shift that runs 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
In this position you will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items across multiple meal periods, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special or catered events. It is a contract assignment with the potential to move toward ongoing or contract-to-hire work for the right candidate.
What you will do:- Prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items- Support breakfast, lunch, and dinner meal periods throughout the shift- Cook for special events and catered functions as scheduled- Plate and present food accurately and consistently so every tray and plate looks the same- Follow portion control standards to maintain food quality and control waste- Work efficiently to meet meal service timelines and get food out on time- Communicate clearly with other cooks and kitchen team members during service- Work across multiple menu types and adjust as the day's meal periods change
Schedule and pay:- $23.07 per hour- Overtime paid at $32.30 per hour- Day shift, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM- Approximately 40 hours per week- Paid weekly by C1 Staffing
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Prior cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen, healthcare, or senior dining setting- Comfort working across multiple meal periods and a range of menu types- Attention to portion control, food quality, and presentation- Reliability and strong communication with kitchen team members- Ability to stand, lift, and move throughout a full shift
