C1 Staffing is hiring a Food Service Worker for an assignment in Montclair, NJ 07042, preparing and serving food and keeping kitchen and dining areas clean and stocked. This is a quick-hire opportunity paying $18.54 per hour, with the potential to continue as an ongoing contract-to-hire role for workers who perform well.
What you will do:- Prepare, portion, and serve food items according to posted menus and food safety standards- Set up serving lines, stations, and dining areas before service, and break them down afterward- Wash dishes, utensils, pans, and equipment, and keep work areas clean and sanitized throughout the shift- Stock supplies and rotate inventory so older product is used first- Follow proper food storage procedures, including correct labeling, covering, and temperature handling- Provide friendly, prompt service to guests and respond to requests professionally- Work cleanly and efficiently during peak service periods alongside the rest of the kitchen team
Schedule and pay:- Pay rate is $18.54 per hour- Paid weekly- Career/ongoing position, with potential to continue as a contract-to-hire role based on performance
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Reliable attendance and punctuality for every scheduled shift- Ability to stand and walk for the full shift- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds- Comfort working in hot, cold, and fast-paced kitchen environments- Clean, neat appearance and willingness to follow the site dress code- Prior food service or kitchen experience is a plus, but it is not required — we will consider candidates who are ready to learn and show up consistently
