C1 Staffing is hiring a Cook II in Carthage, TX, preparing and serving hot and cold food items across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and grill service. Pay is $15.37 per hour with overtime at $21.52 per hour, and this contract assignment has the potential to go contract-to-hire if you and the client are a good match.
What you will do:- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and grill service- Learn both the retail and patient menus and cook to the standards each one requires- Cover AM and PM shifts and provide relief coverage for vacations as needed- Step into other kitchen roles when the team needs support, including salads, food service worker duties, and the dish room- Portion and present plates consistently so every meal period goes out on time and looks right- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and surfaces throughout the shift- Work alongside the kitchen team and provide friendly, helpful service to everyone you serve
Schedule and pay:- $15.37 per hour, with overtime paid at $21.52 per hour- Paid weekly- Approximately 40 hours per week- Generally 8:30am to 5pm, plus every other weekend from 11am to 5pm- Some shifts may run 6am to 2:30pm, so schedule flexibility is important- Contract assignment with the possibility of hiring on directly if you and the client both want that
What you will need:- Must be 18 or older- Cooking experience across multiple meal periods, such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, and grill- Willingness to learn new menus and rotate into other kitchen positions as needed- Strong customer service skills and a team-first attitude- Commitment to cleaning and sanitation as a regular part of the job- Availability for AM shifts, PM shifts, and every other weekend- Willingness to complete a background check- Uniform of a black top, black pants, and slip-resistant shoes
